Put all these damn notifications on pause and for once,
Just think about stuff — the very nature of our existence.
Are your shoulders feeling too tired and tense? Because
‘Tis okay to take a little break, or at least a small breath!
Clutch your life back from the market’s capitalist claws.
Begin to slowly wonder, when was the last time you
Really noticed some bird chirping merrily across?
For that sight will not remain, I highly doubt..
Due to our dependence on the pressurized
Remnants of extinct dinosaurs. Echoes
Of their pain lost in this world when
We have plastic, not pasta straws.

All this repetitive news can give us a
Few clues about how every politician or
So-called journalist is but merely a reflection
Of society’s inherent flaws. Our species needs to
Really look into the mirror, but how can it, when the
Latest smartphone’s awesome selfie camera is nearer?
The utter lack of tyre crash barriers alongside hilly
Roads globally is a giant atrocity, but a special
Surge of anger within me it draws when I
Hear about a tribal who suffers due to
Draconian mineral extraction laws. And
When a peaceful dude gets imprisoned for
Violating a sedition or homosexuality clause.

Sigh, let us pledge to do the right thing,
Even while nobody is watching..
To hell with the applause.
Go tell yourself to not just simply
Live for, instead keep working towards a
Day we can proudly proclaim to our bloodlines;
We did not ask nor beg, but rather snatched
Our dignity, hopes, joys and freedoms..
From the demon’s clenching jaws.
And every wicked problem we presently
Happen to see? Insurmountable, it merely was!
